The SEPPP is currently composed of State DOTs from the southeastern U.S. and representatives from the private and academic sectors. The most recent meeting of the SEPPP took place the week of May 11, 2009 in New Orleans, Louisiana.
The Southeast Pavement Preservation Partnership (SEPPP) is supported by voluntary contributions by member agencies made to the American Association of State Highway Transportation Officials (AASHTO) in cooperation with the FHWA Office of Asset Management to fund the states in developing sound pavement investment programs to gain infrastructure and operational efficiencies and also satisfy the new reporting requirements of GASB 34.

The SEPPP is comprised of state agencies, local agencies, contractors, suppliers, academic institutions, and consultants located or affiliated with, interests in the southeastern U.S. Any agency, organization, company, or group may join and participate in this partnership by contributing funds to AASHTO, orĀ email hidden; JavaScript is requiredby paying fees to attend the annual workshop and conference.
While some of the SEPPP states have developed preventive maintenance programs as a key step in preserving their pavement investment and extending their serviceability with cost effective preservation treatments, other states could benefit from a sharing of the knowledge gained from this experience. Such a partnership would develop sound preservation practices by a beneficial sharing of information on treatment designs, construction practices, performance measures, and research needs.
Specific funding is needed to:
- Assure participation and collaboration among the states at an annual workshop meeting;
- Implement task operations, as designated by SEPPP’s Steering Committee; and,
- Managing the SEPPP’s operations to include an annual meeting, reporting, and developing and maintaining an informational web-site.
Additional meetings besides the annual workshop and task groups, are possible. The proposed budget will cover the cost of meeting arrangements, state travel, and a meeting report.
Proceedings from the annual workshop and task group meetings will be documented by a report. An annual report of SEPPP’s affairs and events will be prepared by the National Center for Pavement Preservation (NCPP). The NCPP will provide oversight and a web-site for the SEPPP as determined by SEPPP’s Steering Committee and its by-laws.
