Bridge Cleaning and Washing Permits

Bridge Cleaning and Washing Permits

Postby welched » Wed Jun 08, 2011 10:37 am

In the most Northern Regions of the country and many others, where chlorides and other chemicals are utilized for deicing, permitting thru state enviornmental agencies has continued to be an involved process, sometimes to the point where the cleaning and washing are eliminated entirely. Maine and Washington State have shared their permitting processes with TSP2 and will be posted on the website. I thought that this Forum would be an excellent location for states to comment and share their experiences.

Reminder: Considering the enviornmentalm impacts of manufacturing steel, concrete and other conctruction materials, the enviornmental impact to prematurely replace a bridge is far greater than preserving it. .........................Ed
