Asphalt Materials and Mixtures 2011: Volume 2

TRB’s Transportation Research Record: Journal of the Transportation Research Board, No. 2208 contains 14 papers that explore hot-mix asphalt that contains nickel slag aggregate, rutting resistance of asphalt concrete mixtures that contain recycled asphalt pavement, performance characteristics of thin-lift overlay mixtures, fatigue evaluation of warm-mix asphalt mixtures, and the effect of mineral filler characteristics on asphalt mastic and mixture rutting potential.

This issue of the TRR also examines low-temperature fracture characteristics of selected warm-mix asphalt concretes, recycled asphalt pavements, fatigue characteristics in high reclaimed asphalt pavement and warm-mix asphalt, effects of recycled asphalt pavement amounts on low-temperature cracking performance, performance evaluation of asphalt mixtures with high recycled asphalt pavement content, virgin and recycled asphalt pavements, the effect of aggregate drying on the moisture content of hot-mix asphalt, initial performance of warm-mix asphalt, and novel moisture-conditioning method for adhesive failure of hot- and warm-mix asphalt binders.
