The U.S. Department of Transportation Office of Inspector General has released a report that assesses the procedures that the U.S. Federal Highway Administration and U.S. Federal Transit Administration use to monitor the highway and mass transit accounts, and the U.S. Department of Transportation’s methods of communicating with Congress and recipients regarding possible fund shortfalls.
