The U.S. Federal Highway Administration has released the latest issue of Traffic Volume Trends, which is a monthly report based on hourly traffic count data reported by the states. According to the report, travel on all roads and streets changed by 1.6 percent (3.5 billion vehicle miles) in January 2012 as compared with January 2011. Travel for the month is estimated to be 224.8 billion vehicle miles. Cumulative travel for 2012 is up by 1.6 percent (3.5 billion vehicle miles). The cumulative estimate for the year is 224.8 billion vehicle miles of travel.
