Registration is now open for three webinars regarding the implementation of several products developed through the second Strategic Highway Research Program (SHRP2), the American Association of State Highway and Transportation Officials and the Federal Highway Administration announced Friday.
AASHTO and FHWA are scheduled to present web conferences for state and local transportation partners in three specific focus areas. Participants will get a chance to learn more about SHRP2 Solutions, hear about upcoming solicitations for deployment opportunities, discuss the technologies and innovations ready for implementation, and get familiar with the criteria for participation.
The first webinar, set to take place on Monday, Feb. 4 from 3-4 p.m. EST, will focus on those SHRP2 Solutions dealing with Capacity, or tools that deal with transportation planning, environmental review, and collaborative decision making. Specific information regarding the SHRP2 Solution known as Implementing Eco-Logical (C06B) will be provided. Registration for the Capacity webinar is available at bit.ly/SHRP2capacity.
On Thursday, Feb. 7 from 2-3 p.m. EST, AASHTO and FHWA will present information on SHRP2 products included in its Reliability focus area, which include tools for improving traffic operations and reducing congestion. Specific information on the SHRP2 Solution known as Organizational Assessment and Leadership to Improve Operations (L01/06) will be provided. A webinar on implementation for the SHRP2 Renewal products will be held on Friday, Feb. 8 from 2-4 p.m. EST. This focus area deals with tools to rehabilitate a vital but aging highway system including advanced methods for rapid bridge construction, pavements, project delivery, nondestructive testing techniques, and underground utilities. Specific information will be provided on the following SHRP2 Solutions ready for deployment: Accelerated Bridge Construction Design Toolkit (R04); Next Generation Project Management Tools for Managing Risk and Complex Projects (R09/10); and Pavement Preservation Options for High-Volume Roadways (R26).
