TRB Introduces SHRP2 Webinar Series

AASHTO Journal, 12 April 2013

The Transportation Research Board announced a new webinar series that will focus on the various products developed through the second Strategic Highway Research Program (SHRP2). TRB administers the SHRP2 program under a memo of understanding with the American Association of State Highway and Transportation Officials and the Federal Highway Administration.

The webinars, which will be held every other Tuesday, will provide an overview of a SHRP2 product and the benefits that it provides. AASHTO and FHWA representatives will also participate in each webinar to discuss opportunities for implementation and to answer any questions posed by webinar participants. Any current or past users of the products will also be available to speak to their own experiences and discuss how others might benefit from the SHRP2 products. Professional Development Hours and/or American Institute of Certified Planners Continuing Maintenance credits are offered for attendees of select webinars in the series.

TRB’s SHRP2 webinar series is scheduled to begin Tuesday, May 7, when webinar participants will discuss “New Strategies for Managing Complex Projects” by “exploring a five-dimensional approach to help managers of complex transportation projects make rational resource allocations,” according to TRB.

Information on the first SHRP2 Tuesdays webinar is available here. Further information on the SHRP2 program can be found at SHRP2.transportation.org.
