Senate, House Continue Work on FY 14 Transportation Appropriations Bills

AASHTO Journal, 26 July 2013

The House and Senate this week continued work on their respective 2014 Transportation, Housing and Urban Development (THUD) appropriations bills (see related AASHTO Journal story here).

The Senate brought its $54 billion THUD appropriations bill (S.1243) to the floor on Wednesday with senators filing numerous amendments, following a strong endorsement by the Obama Administration. The Senate is expected to continue work on amendments into next week before a final vote on the bill. A summary of action on amendments so far is available here.

The House is expected to take up its $45 billion THUD appropriations bill (H.R. 2610) next week. The bill was passed out of the Rules Committee Monday, but did not see action on the House floor.
