U.S. Transportation Secretary Anthony Foxx will join Colorado Gov. John Hickenlooper and Shailen Bhatt, executive director of the state Department of Transportation, in an Oct. 28 CDOT conference looking at how different uses of technology can improve roadway traffic and safety.
That “Transportation Matters Summit” in Denver will also include remarks by Malcolm Dougherty, director of the California DOT, and Kirk Steudle, the Michigan DOT’s executive director. Here is the full agenda.
CDOT said the event will “focus on how we plan to leap beyond the 20th century thinking that has defined our transportation system, to create a nimble system capable of leading 21st century innovations and change. At the summit we will both be showcasing leading-edge technology and profiling implementation strategies from around the world.”
The agency also said it plans to launch a multimillion-dollar program there to help make Colorado a leader in innovative transportation technologies “and becoming one of the safest and most mobile states in the country.”
