SHRP2 Milestones: November 2016

The U.S. Federal Highway Administration has released the latest edition of its newsletter that details implementation of products of the second Strategic Highway Research Program (SHRP 2), a research program administered by TRB. SHRP2 implementation is a partnership of the Federal Highway Administration (FHWA), American Association of State and Highway Transportation Officials (AASHTO), and the Transportation Research Board (TRB). TRB completed the research, and now FHWA and AASHTO are jointly implementing the resulting SHRP2 Solutions that will help the transportation community enhance productivity, boost efficiency, increase safety, and improve the reliability of the nation’s highway system. This edition focuses on the following:

  • Project Management: Case Studies Highlight Managing Risk (R09) and Strategies for Complex Projects (R10);
  • Nondestructive Testing for Tunnel Linings (R06G) takes on the challenge of tunnel inspections;
  • MPO uses Planning Process Bundle (C02/C08/C09/C12/C15) to improve project prioritization; and more.
