TRB’s National Cooperative Highway Research Program (NCHRP) has issued a request for proposals to develop predictive methods that can be used to estimate scour at the base of longitudinal structures including vertical and sloping walls in a riverine environment with varying flow characteristics; approach angles; structure lengths, shapes, and roughnesses; and stream bed/sub-surface soils. Proposals are due December 8, 2011.
