The FHWA Resource Center Hydraulics Technical Service Team has completed a report on hydraulic engineering practices that are in current use by State Departments of Transportation. This report represents the completion of a two year project consisting of the distribution of a detailed questionnaire to the highway departments of all 50 states and Puerto Rico and the compilation of their responses into a graphical presentation of current policies, practices, and procedures.
Also available is a copy of the Transmittal Memorandum that was sent to the Division Offices and Division Bridge Engineers and an electronic copy of the final report “Highway Hydraulics State of Practices Report – January 2012.” The report may be used by Division Offices, State Departments of Transportation, or others to view a state’s response in particular areas of hydraulic engineering interest or subject matter and to assist in the evaluation or update of their hydraulic engineering program.
