Review of Federal and State Practices to Expedite Completion of Highway Projects

The U.S. Government Accountability Office has released a report that describes the process and factors that could affect highway project time frames, examines state transportation departments’ views on the benefits and challenges of the provisions to expedite highway projects established in federal legislation, and describes additional initiatives that state departments of transportation and the U.S. Federal Highway Administration have implemented to expedite the completion of highway projects.
