House Dems Re-elect Rahall as House Transportation and Infrastructure Committee Ranking Member

AASHTO Journal, 7 December 2012

On Wednesday, House Transportation and Infrastructure Committee Ranking Member Nick Rahall (D-WV) was re-elected by his peers to serve another term as top Democrat on the committee.

“I am deeply grateful for the trust that my colleagues have again placed in me to continue to serve as the top Democrat on the Transportation and Infrastructure Committee,” Rahall said in a statement. “To me, there are few things in Congress as important as the work we do in this committee in supporting job creation, the flow of commerce, and linking our communities to each other and the world. That work takes on added significance during these turbulent times when good-paying American jobs and strong economic growth are so desperately needed.”

Rep. Bill Shuster (R-Pa.) was officially named Chair of the committee last week, succeeding Rep. John Mica (R-Fl.) who was prevented by term limits from continuing to serve as chair (see related story: bit.ly/ShusterAJ).
