IGGA Shares Insight Live at World of Concrete

Since 1975, the World of Concrete has been the industry’s only annual international event dedicated to the concrete and masonry construction industries. Although new products and techniques are often the greatest take-away from this massive show, many may argue the optimistic sentiment trumps the knowledge.  Although projects may still be slow to secure financing and many of us would like to have a bigger backlog, the outlook that things are improving was a theme you couldn’t help but pick up at the Show.

This optimism is extremely evident in the concrete pavement repair (CPR) industry. To this end, John Roberts, Executive Director of the IGGA, and Terry Kraemer, President of Diamond Surface, Inc. and a member of the IGGA Board of Directors, sat down with Concrete Contractor magazine at the World of Concrete to share their viewpoint on how CPR is uniquely suited to meet our nation’s challenge related to aging infrastructure. Roberts noted that the U.S. can’t afford to rebuild our entire network of roads, so repairing is going to be critical. “While techniques have not changed much over the years, the advancement of the technologies with which the techniques can be applied has evolved through tightening of specifications in the industry,” said Roberts.
