ATLANTA – Georgia Gov. Nathan Deal has signed two bills into law designed to help the state move forward on major projects. Deal signed the bills at an Atlanta Metro Chamber of Commerce event Thursday. The first measure, House Bill 202, will give more leniency for the state to distribute funding for major regional projects and interstate improvements.

Deal said the bill will allow Georgia to “better prioritize transportation projects that help to create jobs, decrease traffic holdup for freight and quicken the flow of goods to Georgians.”

The second bill, Senate Bill 70, allows the state Department of Transportation to improve its Design Build program, which helps streamline construction and improve innovation.
