Minnesota Department of Transportation Commissioner Charles Zelle this week announced several key changes to his executive management team.
Zelle named Susan Mulvihill as deputy commissioner and chief engineer. Mulvihill, who has been with MnDOT for 30 years, has worked in various roles at the department such as corporate services division director (her most recent role), operations division director, and metro district maintenance engineer.
Appointed to deputy administrator was Tracy Hatch, who will also take on the role of chief operating officer and chief financial officer. Hatch has served as MnDOT chief financial officer for the last two years and has worked for the state departments of Human Services, Education, and Corrections.
Zelle also named Eric Davis as chief of staff. He previously served as MnDOT’s chief risk officer.
“This team will be charged with ensuring that MnDOT continues to operate in the exemplary way that it has,” Zelle said in a statement. “It will provide for transparency and accountability in our financial and programming efforts. And, it will help the agency do a better job informing the public about transportation’s effect on daily life as well as how it is funded.”
The leadership changes announced by Zelle took effect July 15.
