Less than Two Weeks Remain to Submit 2014 Domestic Scan Proposals

AASHTO Journal, 4 October 2013

The deadline to submit proposals for the 2014 U.S. Domestic Scan Program is Tuesday, Oct. 15. The program, sponsored by the American Association of State Highway and Transportation Officials in coordination with the National Cooperative Highway Research Program, supports technology transfer among state transportation departments on multiple topics. Scans allow for faster dissemination of information among states and allow for accelerated implementation of new practices and technologies.

The program was developed by AASHTO and is administered through NCHRP by using consultant contracts to manage the scans identified by the NCHRP Project 20-68A panel. Proposals must be submitted by the Oct. 15 deadline. The panel will select between three and five proposals in mid-December.

Instructions for submitting a proposal for 2014 can be found here. Additional information on the Domestic Scan Program is available at DomesticScan.org. Those interested may also contact Marty Vitale, AASHTO engineering program specialist, at mvitale AT aashto.org.
