Obama nominates Former KDOT Head for Federal Board

Tom Warne Report, 28 September 2013

The Kansas City Star – September 25, 2013

The former head of the Kansas Department of Transportation, Deb Miller, has been nominated by President Barack Obama to a seat on the Surface Transportation Board.

Miller served as head of KDOT under three governors, both Democratic and Republican: Govs. Kathleen Sebelius, Mark Parkinson and Sam Brownback.

With Senate approval, Miller will join the three-member board that oversees the rail industry.

Many of us know Deb well from her many years at KDOT and more recently at Cambridge. Congratulations to our friend! She brings rich experience and practical sense to the STB. JN
