Halikowski Retained by New Gov. Ducey to Continue Heading Arizona DOT

New Arizona Gov. Doug Ducey said he is retaining John Halikowski as director of the state Department of Transportation.

Ducey, who was sworn in as governor Jan. 5, announced on Jan. 8 that he was keeping Halikowski and three other cabinet members from the prior administration.

Halikowski has served headed ADOT since February 2009.

Before that, he was deputy director of the Motor Vehicle Division and earlier held staff positions at the Arizona House of Representatives.

Among his industry activities, Halikowski is the immediate past president of the Western Association of State Highway and Transportation Officials, chairs the American Association of State Highway and Transportation Officials’ Standing Committee on Research and co-chairs the Arizona Transportation and Trade Corridor Alliance.
