Commission Taps Broeker To Be Interim MoDOT Director When Nichols Retires

AASHTO Journal, 3 April 2015

The Missouri Highways and Transportation Commission has appointed Roberta Broeker, currently chief financial officer of the Missouri Department of Transportation, to be MoDOT’s interim director when Director Dave Nichols retires on May 1.

Broeker has been the agency’s CFO for nearly 10 years, as part of a 35-year career in the state government, and has served at MoDOT under three directors. Before taking the CFO post in 2005, she served five years as the agency’s director of audits and investigations.

She joined MoDOT in 1998 from the State Auditor’s office, where she was an audit manager.

Commission Chair Stephen Miller said Broeker “has the skills and experience to guide the department while we search for a permanent replacement” for Nichols. “With Roberta’s help, we are positioned for a seamless transition for employees, customers, and stakeholders.”

The commission has hired Grant Cooper & Associates to assist with identifying potential candidates to lead the department as the permanent director, and plans to announce the choice for that position next autumn.
