Preserve and Conserve: Environmental Sustainability, Responsible Preservation

Replacement of our highway and bridge infrastructure requires new concrete and steel which can only be produced at substantial expense and with large quantities of air and water pollution.  Preservation minimizes the frequency of needed replacement by extending facility life at reasonable cost and avoiding the high environmental costs.

The attached presentation was given at the Transportation Research Board (TRB) Meeting held in Washington, D.C., during the week of 23 January 2011 by SCS, Inc.
