Recovering Full Repair Costs of INDOT Infrastructure Damaged by Motor Vehicle Crashes

Purdue University has released a report that examines enhanced management procedures to decrease the financial burden on the state that results from the replacement or repair of right-of-way needs due to motor vehicle crashes.

The report identifies best practices that support increasing the percent of invoices collected from responsible motorists, that more effectively associate vehicle crash reports with crash-damaged infrastructure, that decrease the process time, and that help ensure that invoices reflect the fully loaded repair cost.
