TRB to Host Free Webinar on Importance of Communicating Highway Preservation

AASHTO Journal, 22 March 2013

Registration is now open for a webinar on how to communicate the need to preserve our nation’s highways. The webinar, hosted by the Transportation Research Board, will primarily focus on a report released earlier this year by the National Cooperative Highway Research Program (NCHRP), “Report 742: Communicating the Value of Preservation: A Playbook.”

The webinar takes place Thursday, April 18 from 3:30-4:30 p.m. EDT.

The NCHRP report was written to help state transportation departments demonstrate why preservation matters by engaging stakeholders, getting preservation recognized as a priority, creating a group of supporters who also believes that preservation should be a priority and that can help advance the goals of state DOTs, and creating a call to action by rallying those supporters (see related AASHTO Journal story here).

There is no cost to participate in the webinar, though registration must be done in advance. Interested parties can register here. Any questions regarding the webinar can be directed to Sally Thompson at sathompson AT burnsmcd.com.
