FHWA Launches Comprehensive New Website, GoSHRP2

AASHTO Journal, 9 August 2013

A comprehensive new website for the second Strategic Highway Research Program (SHRP2) is now available. The Federal Highway Administration this week announced the launch of GoSHRP2, a new website aimed at giving users additional insight into the SHRP2 program.

The site offers extensive product resources and helpful technical materials for state and local departments of transportation and metropolitan planning organizations interested in using SHRP2 Solutions to advance their programs and processes. Information is available on the overall program as well as on individual SHRP2 products. Each product page includes benefits, product descriptions, links to original research, and case studies (as available) and will expand as the implementation process continues. Applications for the second round of implementation assistance are available at the site, including tips for completion, and opportunities to ask questions and make suggestions to enhance the process.

The website will enable state DOTs, metropolitan planning organizations, and other interested organizations to engage in the deployment of products that have the potential to save lives, money, and time. It complements two existing sites: AASHTO’s SHRP2 site, which focuses on information pertaining to state DOTs, as well as AASHTO committees and membership; and the Transportation Research Board SHRP2 site, which includes information about the original research, pilot programs, and case studies that provides the basis for the SHRP2 Solutions.
