South Carolina Gov. Haley Names Hall Acting DOT Secretary

AASHTO Journal, 7 February 2014

South Carolina Governor Nikki Haley last week announced she appointed Christy Hall to serve as Acting South Carolina Department of Transportation Secretary. Hall previously served as SCDOT Deputy Secretary of Finance and Procurement. Hall, a Professional Engineer, has been with SCDOT for more than two decades. She began her service with the department working in road design and held numerous management positions including program manager, district construction engineer (in District 3), and district engineering administrator (District 2). Hall was promoted to deputy secretary for finance and administration in 2011.

Gov. Haley thanked former Secretary Robert St. Onge, who had led SCDOT since 2010, for his service.

“General St. Onge is a good man with a lifetime of his service to his country, and more recently, our state,” said Doug Mayer, Haley’s spokesman, as reported by various media outlets. “The governor thanks him for his work fixing the serious fiscal issues he inherited at the Department of Transportation—the state is better off because of his service.”
