Transportation TV: Winter Survival Guide

AASHTO Journal, 21 November 2014

Stranded motorist pushing car.

With heavy snows hitting large swaths of the country and arctic temperatures in others, motorists from coast to coast got a winter wake-up call this month.

When winter weather strikes, roads can become impassible and vehicle breakdowns are more common.  Motorists need to be prepared, and carrying survival kit in their vehicles can be the difference between life and death.

A new Transportation 101 video shows viewers how to create their own survival kits and walks them through several steps they can take now to keep cars running all winter long. Visit AASHTO’s Transportation TV site for this special presentation and hundreds more transportation-related videos.
