2015 TRB 94th Annual Meeting: Mobile App Now Available + Turn On Push Notifications

TRB is pleased to announce release of its Annual Meeting Mobile App, supported by the PTV Group. The app provides registered attendees with access to the schedule of events, program participants, floor plans, exhibitors, and more through their iPhones, iPads, and Android devices. It also allows them to search for events chronologically or by subject area, program participant name, committee, event type, or full text.

To download the Mobile App, search “TRB 2015” in the App Store or Google Play. To unlock the app’s ability to view, plan and save personalized itineraries (and to see event locations), you first must register for the meeting, and then key your email address into the app. You can create your personal itinerary and list of favorites by adding events, presentations, program participants, exhibitors, patrons, subjects, and meetings to “My Meeting” in the app. You also can find their locations on the interactive floor plans.

Upon downloading the App, you will be asked if you want to receive “push notifications.” These notices will appear on your screen when the device is locked. You also can enable a sound announcing a new notification. We encourage you to choose to receive push notifications if you would like to receive alerts about your schedule and important information (including any emergency alerts such as weather alerts, security issues, etc.) from TRB.

Please note that both the Mobile App and the web-based Annual Meeting Interactive Program provide opportunities to create your own personal itinerary, but—at the present time—the two systems are not able to sync or share information. Changes made in one will not be reflected in the other.

TRB thanks the PTV Group for its support of the Annual Meeting Mobile App. Attendees who are iPhone, iPad, or Android users are strongly encouraged to download the mobile app before arriving onsite.

For the first time in almost 60 years, the TRB Annual Meeting will be moving to a new venue, the Walter E. Washington Convention Center. Attendees will be able to take advantage of new amenities such as free wireless Internet, expanded space for exhibits, and the convenience of all sessions taking place under one roof. As the meeting transitions to a new, modern facility, this year’s theme is Corridors to the Future: Transportation and Technology.

You are encouraged to register for the meeting today. The 2015 TRB 94th Annual Meeting covers all transportation modes and addresses topics of interest to all attendees—policy makers, administrators, practitioners, researchers, and representatives of government, industry, and academic institutions. The meeting, which draws attendees from throughout the United States and from more than 80 countries, is the single largest gathering of transportation practitioners and researchers in the world.
