Longitudinal Cracking in Concrete at Bridge Deck Dams on Structural Rehabilitation Projects

The Pennsylvania Department of Transportation has released a report that identifies causes of longitudinal cracking in newly placed concrete deck segments adjacent to bridge deck expansion dam rehabilitations, as identified by a literature review of potential causes, a review of state bridge deck construction and rehabilitation specifications, and an evaluation of the material properties of three concrete mixtures used for bridge deck projects.
