Leading Practices in Large-Scale Outsourcing and Privatization of Maintenance Functions

The U.S. Domestic Scan Program has released a report that explains practices, challenges and opportunities for large-scale outsourcing of maintenance activities at transportation agencies. The U.S. Domestic Scan Program is designed to facilitate technology transfer among state departments of transportation on a variety of topics. The U.S. Domestic Scan Program was developed by the American Association of State Highway and Transportation Officials and is administered the National Cooperative Highway Research Program. The opinions and conclusions expressed or implied in U.S. Domestic Scan Program documents are those of the scan team and are not necessarily those of the Transportation Research Board, the National Research Council, or the program sponsors.
