The American Association of State Highway and Transportation Officials (AASHTO) and the U.S. Federal Highway Administration (FHWA) have announced that 21 transportation organizations are recipients of the Round 6 Implementation Assistance Program (IAP) under the second Strategic Highway Research Program (SHRP2). Round 7 IAP will open April 1, 2016, and this will be the final round. After the final IAP concludes, there may be some limited opportunities to provide assistance on a case-by-case basis, as needs arise and funding permits. With more than 300 IAP SHRP2 projects underway, a new publication called SHRP2 Milestones​ has been released that highlights significant project developments, case studies, and practices.
